Finding a good and cheap web host
Okay... So I'm pretty sure it's time to shoot this horse named Blogspot and go out and get a domain. For right now... I'm thinking GoDaddy.com as a host and domain registrar. I've picked up a few domains from them in the past for a business that is currently up in air and on hold. I've also gotten a domain and hosting services through startlogic.com (fuck them, service is good, support sucks and billing is crap unless you like to be billed even though you have repeated requested to no renew with them) a few years back. They are good enough, but probably at least 2x the cost of GoDaddy (and 20x the headaches).
So, is there a better host out there? GoDaddy is looking to cost me about 3.59 a month if I get a 1 year contract/prepaid plus a couple bucks for the domain name. If you know of a sweeter deal, let me know.
Some asshole spammer looked up this post via google today (3/25/07) so he could post a cut and paste of Startlogic's supposed "features"... The last is my favorite because the only awards those fucktards should ever win is a Darwin Award. Read the comments to see what I'm ranting about. I'm deleting the asshole comment spam because it is just startlogic's features with a link to his referal shit for them. Fuck him, fuck them.
End Date = None

Because of this book
this site will rise like a pheonix or something

So someone who is good at cutting and pasting from StartLogic has anonymously left a "review" of them...
DON'T GET STARTLOGIC Since posting this post a few months back I've had nothing but trouble with those fucktards. Their award-winning support only wins awards for being nonresponsive ignorant tools who can only repeat to you what a database says.
To make things better I called them a number of times to only get a busy/no answer each time I called over a span of a few days. Hows that for award winning.
I then emailed them asking to term my account to avoid them from auto billing me for renewal. NO RESPONSE
I emailed again complaining about the lack of response from the previous call. I got emailed by a friendly tool who instead of doing as I ask offered me a free month. NO THANKS! I then emailed back saying no thanks, just cancel.
Needless to say... 5 days later I got fucking billed.
It's a shame because when their service works it is very good. When it doesn't work though, you are shit out of luck for a few days because technical support is about usefull as hiking boots on a quadriplegic.
